About CiteCheckup
CiteCheckup is a free, rules-based page audit for people who want to make web content clearer, more answerable, and easier for automated systems to interpret.
What it is
A readiness checklist
The checker retrieves one public page and applies seven deterministic scoring dimensions covering positioning, topic relevance, answer patterns, comparisons, structured content, crawlability, and brand clarity.
What it is not
A citation predictor
The score does not represent the chance of being cited. CiteCheckup cannot inspect private AI indexes, and no page-level checklist can guarantee a mention, ranking, or citation in an AI-generated answer.
Why it exists
Advice about visibility in AI search often mixes two different questions: whether a page has clear, useful content and whether a particular model happens to surface it at a particular moment. CiteCheckup separates those ideas so a practical page audit is not presented as proof of live visibility.
The goal is to make the observable part useful and transparent. The scoring weights are published, limitations are stated alongside results, and an optional OpenAI search-model snapshot—when enabled—is kept separate from the readiness score.
Transparency first
CiteCheckup does not claim access to proprietary ranking systems or private answer indexes. You can review every scoring category and the known extraction and language limits on the methodology page.
